After two days and nights in Paris, we've seen a ton and enjoyed every minute of it!  The experience in the airport, getting our bags and accessing the metro was almost seamless, after our "shower" in the men's bathroom at the airport.  We were fortunate to hook up with Jenn and Charles Whipple (shout out) once we got here.  We experienced the Louvre together....seeing the Mona Lisa was our highlight, since our Art history background is limited;).  It is an amazing site to see, however after working up a sweat, we were parched and so we drank wine in the Louvre Gardens for a few hours! So much fun! Totally relaxing and great to have friends is Paris (said peh-ree when in Paris).  After a quick shower to freshen up, we attempted to take the Seine River cruise with our newfound friends Sara and Anna (met them on our flight--they also shared in our bathroom "shower" at the airport--BONDING!) Unfortunately tickets were sold out, but we were able to meet back up with the Whipples and took a night cruise with them.  The Eiffel Tower was beautifully lit and sparkling....like our wine! Paris is gorgeous at night!  We finished off the night with a night cap and dinner at an outdoor cafe.  Yesterday we toasted champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower and shared croissants.  The views from the top are amazing, everything is so beautiful here!  Next we walked to the Arc de Triumph, snapped a picture and had lunch at a bistro on the Champs-Élysées.  After a quick metro ride we took in all of the beauty that Notre Dame had to offer. At Sainte-Chapelle Jillian and Charles were frisked after the walk through security triggered the alarm--not to worry it was only our 5 lb room key. The stained glass windows of Sainted-Chapelle trump any stained glass we've seen in the states. After touring the churches we needed a pick me up and headed to Cafe Flore and enjoyed an espresso with a hint of Baileys.  We got adventurous for dinner and had foie gras, veal and red mullet (fish). The waiter got a kick out of us practicing our new French skills. We are not sure if he was amused by our attempts or laughing at us. In true French tradition we caught the 11:00pm Moulin Rouge show, which was a sight to be seen. Sara, Anna, Charles and Jenn also joined us for the show. We finished off the night with a night cap and croque-madame at a local bistro across the street from the show. Although when Charles asked the waiter for another round, he said they were closing.....some times it pays to be a girl because when we asked the drinks came right out! The night didn't end until 4 in the morning. That didn't stop us, we were up at 8, met up with the "crew" and headed to Montmartre where we saw Sacre Coeur.  The panoramic view outside of the basilica was breathtaking. In her true anal fashion, Jillian became a bit tense about making it to our 5hr train ride to St. Jean de Luz. Jen was as cool as  a cucumber using the google map app to find our way-thanks Sara for the recommendation.  So we made it! Until next time...........
