Barcelona, Spain

Another cab ride to another hotel. This hotel was by far the nicest yet. We got ready while we waited for Rachelle to arrive from Italy. Our concierge recommended a  restaurant for dinner a few blocks away. Much to our surprise it came to be our most expensive dinner; after three Sangrias and many tapas our bill came to 135 euros. After biting into a pepper that squirted  all over Jillian's shirt, the waitress took Jillian into the bathroom to help her with the stain. She told her to take her shirt off to help her get the stain out and reassured her that it was ok because "I am a girl to." Despite their efforts the stain did not come out and essentially the waitress got a free show:) We then went out onto the terrace at the top of the Majestic Hotel.  The views were beautiful and the weather was humid and at one point even started to rain. On our walk in search of another place to quench our thirst, a promoter gave us a flyer for a free drink and live music at the Obama bar. Don, Jen's Dad, would have loved it! We befriended some Irish business men and they were so excited to talk to "brilliant" American women. We'll take it:) They were great men, bragged about their families and were very kind.  The "boss man"' talked about taking the garbage out for his neighbor, who just so happened to be the drummer from U2.  Pretty cool! Surprise!--the next day we woke up late, but in enough time to take the double decker on and off tour bus to all of the main attractions in Barcelona. We also had time to enjoy a beer in the park in from of Sagrada de Familia. For dinner we enjoyed a view of Las Ramblas from a terrace. It was an early night on the town but ended up late because we were figuring out our transportation to Italy the next
day. We finally decided to book a flight and then we were able to rest easy. Before we left Spain we enjoyed one of its many beautiful beaches.  We got a taxi from our hotel and
rushed to the airport, only to find out that our flight  was delayed two hours.  We enjoyed
the outdoor patio and grabbed McDonald's, choosing beer, as it was one of their drink choices to go with their value meals. We finally departed on our flight from Barcelona to
Italy...
